Ethan Willoughby, a 2017 graduate of Holdingford High School, can’t wait to get back to school.
A recipient of a Holdingford Endowment Scholarship, Ethan is studying secondary education at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth and working as a librarian’s assistant. “I’ve always loved teaching, and math has been especially interesting and fun to teach,” he says. “My career goal is to be a middle school math teacher.”
Ethan says the Holdingford Endowment Scholarship definitely helped with tuition. “It really helped me get through my first year of college because I didn’t have to worry about taking out too many loans.”
While at Holdingford, Ethan was involved in cross country, basketball, track and field, and Project for Teens (P4Teens). His advice for future Holdingford grads? “It’s alright not to know what you are doing for your first year of college. Just have fun, do your generals, and find a few classes that sound interesting. If you’re still interested in learning more about something after a semester, then you’ve found a good fit.”
