Annual Community Event Supports Student Educational Scholarships

Holdingford, Minn. (August 18, 2022)Holdingford Scholarship Endowment has announced the results of this year’s annual Holdingford Daze Car & Motorcycle Show. This was the first year the organization hosted the event.

The Car & Motorcycle Show marks the kick-off to the annual Holdingford Daze community celebration. This year’s show was held on Friday, July 8, from 5-8 pm on Main Street. There was music, concessions, and admission to the show was free. Spectators saw new and antique cars, trucks, and motorcycles and even got the chance to vote on their favorites.

Car and motorcycle enthusiasts in the community were invited to register their vehicles or motorcycles for the show. The cost to pre-register before the event was $15, and $20 at the gate. All proceeds for the show went to support educational scholarships for Holdingford High School graduates.

At the end of the evening, the votes were counted and the top five winners were announced. The winners and their car/motorcycles were:

  • Jim & Carol Stodoka (1956 Nash Ambassador)
  • Brent & Kim Lange (1969 Ford Cobra)
  • August Preusser (1956 Buick Special)
  • Steve Tapper (1957 Chevy 3100)
  • Lynn Kilian (1939 Ford Coupe)

“Thank you to all the show participants for your registrations and donations! $2,874 was raised for educational scholarships for Holdingford seniors,” said Kelly Boeckermann, chair of the HSE board. “Holdingford Scholarship Endowment would like to give special thanks to the Booster Club for their donation, the Chamber of Commerce for assisting in the show, to community members, Carla and Ginelle, for their assistance, and the FFA students and student scholarship recipients for donating their time.”
